Tokudaiji Kinmichi (徳大寺公迪)

Kinmichi TOKUDAIJI who was also known as Kinnari TOKUDAIJI (July 30, 1771 - September 12, 1811) was Kugyo (a Court Noble) in the late Edo period. He served for the sovereign of the 119th Emperor Kokaku; He was promoted up to Shonii (Senior Second Rank) Gon Dainagon (Provisional Chief Councilor of State). His father was Sanemi TOKUDAIJI. His mother is unknown. His wife was a daughter of Sanetane IMADEGAWA. Sanemi TOKUDAIJI was his adopted son.

He was conferred a peerage in 1780. Since then, he was successfully promoted; After he took the positions of Ukone no Gon no Shosho (Provisional Minor Captain of the Right Division of Inner Palace Guards) and Ukone no Gon no Chujo (Provisional Middle Captain of the Right Division of Inner Palace Guards), he became Jusanmi (Junior Third Rank) in 1786, which gave him the title Kugyo. He was appointed Gon Chunagon (Provisional Vice-Councilor of State) in 1796; He became Chugu Gon no Daibu (Provisional Master of the Consort's Household) for Imperial Princess Yoshiko who was Chugu (Imperial consort) in 1798. He took the position of Gon Dainagon in 1800; He served as the chief of In no Miumaya (the division which was responsible for looking after oxen and horses) for the retired emperor Gosakuramachi from 1804 to 1811. He served as Toka no sechie Geben (Court Noble who conducted a Toka no Sechie [a ceremony held at the Imperial Court in January] inside the Jomei Gate) in 1805.

He learned Waka (Japanese poetry) which was taught by Kageki KAGAWA.
